Your privacy is our highest priority. The YouSendME add-on is designed to process your
data securely, and we are committed to protecting your information.
Data Protection Commitment
The data processed by the YouSendME add-on remains completely within your Google
ecosystem. We do NOT store, transmit, or share your data with any third party for
analysis, marketing, or any other purpose. Your spreadsheet data and personal
information stay private and secure with Google.
Required Permissions
YouSendME requires specific permissions to operate effectively. Here's what we use and
why:
1. View and manage your spreadsheets in Google
Sheets
This permission enables the core functionality of YouSendME. The add-on reads
your Google Sheets data to send bulk WhatsApp messages—one message per row in
your spreadsheet. You select which column contains the WhatsApp phone numbers,
and the add-on processes your entire contact list. You can personalize each
message using merge fields derived from your sheet headers (the first row of
your sheet). When you click 'Send Messages,' the add-on merges the data with
your message template and sends each message. Critically, your
spreadsheet data is never stored, shared, or analyzed by us.
2. Connect to external services
This permission allows YouSendME to integrate with WhatsApp's messaging service
to deliver your messages. Additionally, it enables error logging to help us
identify and fix technical issues you may encounter. We also collect anonymous
usage analytics to understand which features are most useful to our users.
No personal data, phone numbers, or message content is logged or
shared.
3. View and manage files in your Google Drive
This permission is necessary to create and manage a temporary folder
(YouSendMe_Temp_Files) where WhatsApp attachments are stored during message
delivery. This folder is shared among users who collaborate on the same Google
Sheet, allowing all collaborators to access necessary attachments. We
read only what is necessary for the add-on to function and do not access or
delete any other files in your Drive.
4. Run scripts in the background
This permission allows YouSendME to send messages and complete scheduled
deliveries even when you're not actively using the add-on—including when your
device is offline. This enables the advanced scheduling features that make bulk
messaging seamless and efficient.
5. Access your email address
This permission allows the add-on to identify your account for authentication
and service delivery purposes only.
Your Control
You maintain full control over your data at all times. You can uninstall the add-on at
any time, and all processing immediately stops. We do not retain any copy of your
spreadsheets, contact lists, or messages after you uninstall the add-on.
Limited Use Disclosure
YouSendME's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app
will adhere to Google API Service User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements.
